Jurassic World Review
TOAL BOX OFFICE GROSS: 1.7 Billion Dollars!!
Funny thing, when my buddy Ben saw this in theatres I said: “Let me guess the story. They create a brand new dinosaur, the dino escapes, Chris Pratt sends his pet raptors after him, good guys win, the end”. Well I was right. The trailer of the movie is basically the whole movie. Let me go into detail.
A mix between Jurassic Park 1 and 3, Jurassic World is a super predictable yet well-acted feature. Chris Pratt is fantastic, probably saves this movie now that I think about it. He has natural charm much like Harrison Ford did in the 80’s. The story worked great until the ending unfortunately, the whole sicking the original T-Rex on the new dino was kinda cheap, and not a really good plan. Thankfully for the humans he magically disappears once he finishes off the experimental Dino.
Unlike the original, this one included too much CGI. The dinosaurs looked added in digitally, and the actors didn’t always react realistically to what was going on. It’s the best-looking dinosaur movie though so that’s something right? Also, there was a fair amount of gore in this one, which I appreciated.
Here is where the movie shines, it’s fun as hell. Thank Chris Pratt for this, as the rest of cast are generally dumb and annoying. But once the action starts rolling this movie is a beast. The new dinosaur has a bunch of cool abilities, and the tech is super interesting. Folks are being eaten all over the place. We’ve all been without dino movies for too long.
